I guess Liu and Raizou had finally realized they were misunderstanding each other, too bad it had to be right before Liu gets sniped.

Lol that priest equating Samurai killing with a girl buying flowers, now I can see why he would say that after seeing the level of vendetta that motivates his "revenge" work. That scene I did find amusing, the fake grudge just to take care of someone he finds a nuisance and how the priest responds.

Jack • 1 year ago

Is it just me or he looks like the kid from Soul eater? Haven't watched the anime but his face is pretty populer.

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Indeed he does

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 1 year ago

Now that you mention it, I see what you mean lol.

Nioh: "Want to kill everyone from the Chapel since they're breaking their own rules?"

I like this way of thinking.

All the kung fu and speed in the world can't save Liu from a bullet. :\

Jack • 1 year ago

Don't wanna jinks it, but that's probably gonna get her/himself killed lol, he/she's so into the crew that if anyone is out (by the rules) she's ready to fight, and I'm 100% someone's gonna want to quit XD.

Rare • 1 year ago

lets just call nioh, nioh to make it easier, we know that they have both, but we have their name so no need for pronouns

QuadL • 1 year ago

More like #foolish.
The "Church" is an easy target for people with amoral beliefs since imperfect people make it up. All you need to do is find someone who fails to keep themselves perfect and then point fingers. Even if that person doesn't make present mistakes you can just point at their past.

After all, there is a thin line between standing for moral standards and others perceiving judgement because you don't accept lowering your standards. Example If I say I don't accept homosexual activity then those that do automatically perceive that I am attacking their acceptance rather than stating my own position. If I state I do accept it then those who don't, don't care what I accept but do care if I practice that acceptance around others. It's a constant conflict that can't allow for both to exist at the same time. But the lower standards tend to be the aggressor in the conflict.

Andrea Rebek • 1 year ago

idk it can be the church is testing them and the other team of revenger are just going against the church rules.
they did say that they are the only team they can give this work too

Δs†αrο†h • 1 year ago

or to frame them. the church gave the other ribenjiya team the job to assassinate Lin too tho

QuadL • 1 year ago

Would you give the job to the group that already confronted him twice and he's still around?

Though they were not directly seeking to defeat him it still could be perceived as a failure.

GreenTea Gal • 1 year ago

be the first to see what fresh hell raizo gotta go thru this week :D

vsmarzt • 1 year ago

Dang well it was kinda expected that if the church wants him dead he is prolly working against opium, so does that mean the church is working with the rich guy and helping him spread opium?

Reemus • 1 year ago

Indeed it does, since the nun is seen being next to the other guy who is actually after the opium. The Church is corrupt and wants the Chinese out, because they are likely going to fight the opium trade.

Byno • 1 year ago

Wait....so the Chinese are the good guys? Damn, rare to see that nowadays, a historical anime set in Japan and the Chinese aren't evil?

Maka Evans • 1 year ago

What looks like a Catholic Church being evil makes me think of a war of cultures and China has more in common with Japan -at that point in time and historically-

I apologize for any errors, English it's not my first language

QuadL • 1 year ago

The war of cultures is more apt than you are aware of. The church is constantly shown in Hollywood as well as Japanese media as failed, corrupt, inept, etc. because often the majority religious group in Japan demands it. In the U.S. Hollywood is known to be very humanistic and "liberal" in it's position so it also produces entertainment that taints opinions in that way. As for China, it's an easy boogeyman under present world conditions but it holds a lot of financial power and most greedy people will be inclined to court it.

Maka Evans • 1 year ago

Thank you for telling what I already know. I didn't need the lecture as I agree with most of your point. I was only assuming a few things since we still don't know everything about the parties involved

g@be • 1 year ago

Yuen and the boys found a document showing that Lui is an imperial cop from China (yes they would be blamed on killing an imperial officer)

Reemus • 1 year ago

Chinese started being evil in 20th century, before they mostly were the victims.

Maka Evans • 1 year ago

QuadL • 1 year ago

You mean around the time the communist took over during the early part of WWII?

He is grieving after what they made him do.

Red_Fox • 1 year ago

not surprised about the priest revealed to be antagonist. his hairstyle gave it away.

Violetta Bertini • 1 year ago

Reading the comments I am surprised almost nobody else before expected the church to be the evil mastermind putting pawns against each other and stashing all that opium.

I guess I gave it for granted coming from a catholic country XD

But, seriously: just remember that in Japan the catholics were seen as dangerous warmongers, bringing fire weapons to support their believers and pushing a bit too hard for Japan to change, compared to what the Japanese felt was right.

Reemus • 1 year ago

I mean, Yuen said something about "false prophets" in the episode 2. If someone did not expect the Church to turn out evil by then, they are watching it wrong.

Mart1231 • 1 year ago

I am pretty sure the guy who said "So the anime church are the bad guys. Never would have seen that coming" was being sarcastic.

Paradise SLU • 1 year ago

Crap pretty good.

Maria • 1 year ago

Interesting the two "philosophies" at play here:

With our first group of Revengers, the depth and circumstances of the grudge matter. Actually biting the coin to leave behind an imprint and the reason why you want your revenge is what determines whether the revenge takes place.

With our newly introduced second group, all revenges matter as long as the payment is duly made (a golden coin bitten before being given). Like the priest said at the beginning, all killing is the same, and so all revenges are the same.

It was obvious that the Church was on the opium business when after our Revengers completed their task, they were not paid. Calling for the death of others when the man clearly wanted Revenge on his false accuser was an obvious hint that the Church had their own agenda.

So we got a mirror match. Archer vs Sniper, and two religious bosses.

The MC been trying to talk it out with Master Liu from the start, yet they only managed to speak before he got shot, what a waste.

Düölingöhhh Snorlax • 1 year ago

Oh come onnn… :< anyways can someone explain the factions at play pleassseee??? I’m lost :<

Mart1231 • 1 year ago

1° faction: Union, Church and Other Revengers
2° faction: Chinese
3° faction: MCs revengers
4° faction: Police guy with curly hair and his men

Reemus • 1 year ago

Police guy is, from everything so far, an ally of Yuen. They are both actually trying to keep things civil and working.

Mart1231 • 1 year ago

Yes but police guy also wants to capture Kurima, the main character.

Reemus • 1 year ago

From their exchanges, it seems that rather than capture him he is openly letting Yuen know to keep Kurima out of trouble. Because the police guy clearly knows Kurima is under Yuen.
